Space is something that is so massive and amazing we are learning more information about it day in and day out. Over the course of history we have learned so much to try and better understand it but we still have so much more to learn. This is what makes space, the stars, and the planets unique and fascinating. Space was first heavily examined by Ancient Astronomers who did their best to try and name and understand what these objects and phenomenons in the sky were. They started to name the different planets based on Roman mythology and its gods. Many different Astronomers over the course of time have attempted to really understand and give their best hypothesis of how space and earth work together and just overall just try to make sense of it all. This week's subject of nanoscience is something that I have never even heard of but turns out is very much useful and important. One of the very first things I learned about this kind of science is the fact that it's a new way of thinking and using science. This is a more modern and adaptive piece of science that has a great effect on the field. Attending Jessica Irish’s zoom call today was a great experienced. Her topic of plastics and the impact and issues that it causes was quite eye opening for me. For starters, this presentation reflected a few different aspects from this class. One aspect of her project that I’ve learned that is similar to the things in this class is all the research and science that is intertwined with the art. Jessica’s work you can tell took a lot of research and had a big science aspect as she was breaking down the plastic molecules such as polyethylene and the facts behind what exactly affects the whales and how much plastic us humans use and have used using facts.This made for her presentation to be so impactful and effective. It also refers to some technology and the modernization which we have also learned about in this class. This week's topic of neuroscience is my favorite and most interesting subject matter so far that we have studied and examined in this class. The brain is so dynamic and complicated which makes it so unique. Your brain has so many functions and allows for us humans to do literally everything. One piece from the lecture that stuck out to me was the structure of the nervous systems. The concept and idea that we can physically draw what the nervous system looks like blows my mind. The art looks so basic and simple initially but it's far from that.These drawings are very detailed but this concept shows the correlation between science and art. These two both co-exist with one another, which is something I’m learning more and more throughout this course. The concept and idea of bio art is so interesting and different from all the different types of art forms that we’ve studied so far in this class. Bio art for starters can be described as there are artists that think it's bio art because you are studying the tissues and using examples at the cellular level while the other consensus is just using images that have been collaborated and discussed between scientists is enough to be qualified as bio art.
