Industrialization is one of the most influential and important times in history. This not only changed technology and things were made and created but also affected people dramatically. The modernization that industrialization brought moved people from the countryside to the city in order to come and work as the farmers and their equipment were being overmatched. One of the most important and impactful inventions that was created was the printing press. This was a game changer in several ways where now information could be passed around quickly and the quality of the information improved. This one of the first examples of how effective and efficient the assembly line was. It also allowed for books to be made and allowed for religion and bibles and other books to be created.

Industrialization would also spark another major discovery in the realm of technology and innovation. Nikola Tesla helped create AC (alternating Current). Invented and created several items to do with electrical currents and was one of the first to really understand currents. There are some cool exhibits/ examples of his work that I’ve seen at the Griffith Observatory. Can still have an impact today with almost everything electrical today and Elon Musk used his name as inspiration for his companies name. One movie that used the theme of electrical currents was that of Frankenstein. The concept was very outlandish for the time but it was quickly accepted and appreciated due to the time period and the inventions and information that was being presented and accepted. The public liked it and there would be many different versions created throughout the years. It shows that society is progressive and will in fact accept change but that you need to inform the public.

Due to industrialization robotics soon would really take off. For instance, the most famous example of this is through Henry Ford and the creation of the first cars. Then the idea of robots would soon become very popular. These human-like machines would get a lot of attention and these ideas intrigued many and were the main focus in a lot of movies.

Hi Jack. I really enjoyed viewing your blog post for this week. I specifically liked your discussion of industrialization and it’s connection to different aspects like robotics and art. The industrialization that has taken place in our world truly has been life changing and it is interesting to think about the ways in which it will continue to impact our world.
ReplyDeleteHi Jack, I found your blog post to be engaging and informative and overall very well done. I was most drawn to your argument of industrialization and its connection to propelling forward art and technology. I think you really captured the idea of industrialization accelerating the rate at which our everyday way of life is changed and will continue to do so. Nice work!
